Press Release
Not only a historic turnover growth from 16 to 23 million euros, but also numerous awards, projects and new clients made 2019 an extremely successful business year for the Jena digital agency dotSource. With more than 50 new employees and a planned office in the Saxon capital Dresden, the new year is to continue as energetic and promising as the old one.
With the digitisation of customer relations, the dotSource experts generated a turnover of 23 million euros in 2019 and were thus able to achieve new record growth as compared to the previous year. Christian Grötsch (Managing Director) comments on the positive company figures: »2019 was one of our most successful years.« Since its foundation 14 years ago, dotSource has grown organically and by its own efforts through numerous projects. In 2019, well-known references such as STABILO, Würth and EMP were joined by renowned companies, for example Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, Esprit or Analytik Jena. The range of services was expanded as well: thanks to the new »Analysis & Artificial Intelligence« business branch, companies that want to prepare comprehensively for the future can now also be supported by digital experts in this regard.
Internally, the agency continues its successful work: with more than 50 new recruitments, the company now employs almost 300 staff members, including IT consultants, project managers, developers, marketing experts and many more. Today, the company from Jena not only attracts workforce from the region. The team around managing director Christian Grötsch regularly receives applications from all parts of Germany so that another office in the Saxon capital Dresden is planned for the new year. It remains the major goal to grow to more than 500 employees by 2025. In order to achieve this, dotSource relies on the »Modern Work« approach: unique working spaces, annual further education and training opportunities as well as numerous additional services – from weekly fresh fruit to flexible working hours and places to monthly team events or the opportunity of sabbaticals – are only some examples.
Apart from classic human resources marketing, dotSource will continue its focus on the support and training of young IT professionals in 2020, for example through partnerships with regional educational institutions such as the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena (University of Applied Sciences Jena). With this year’s Digital-Gipfel (digital summit), an event initiated by the Federal Government, taking place in Jena, dotSource as part of the new IT cluster »JENA Digital« also supports the city in developing structures which are to strengthen the Thuringian digital economy and improve Jena’s reputation as a central e-commerce location.
On Friday, the 17th of January, dotSource will celebrate its 14th agency birthday. The festivities will be opened by the Thuringian State Minister of Economy and Science, Wolfgang Tiefensee, and the Mayor of Jena, Thomas Nitzsche, at Ernst-Abbe-Straße 15 at 6 p.m.
