Awarded by FOCUS-MONEY: dotSource is one of the best IT service providers in Germany

As part of a wide-ranging study, DEUTSCHLAND TEST, the business magazine FOCUS-MONEY and the Institute for Management and Economic Research examined around 24,000 companies that operate an active business in Germany. Using a web-based »Tonalitätssaldo« (the difference between positive and negative mentions divided by the total number of mentions), the most popular brands were identified and assigned to four core areas (everyday life, work, leisure and technology). In this study, the digital agency dotSource made it into the top 15 of the best IT service providers in Germany.

Whether it is in B2B or B2C: a long-term brand strategy is essential for those who want to establish themselves with (potential) customers and be remembered. Germany’s companies are as diverse as the approaches that contribute to a positive brand image. As a full-service digital agency, dotSource has been supporting businesses in their digital transformations since 2006 and assists them in building their brand image. The digital experts therefore know from their daily consulting business what matters when it comes to designing your own brand. This has now been confirmed in this year’s study »Deutschlands Beste« (Germany’s Best).

»Deutschlands Beste« – The Approach

The data was collected in two stages: in the first stage, search terms were defined and all publicly accessible texts on .de domains containing these keywords were searched. The results were collected in a database and yielded a source set comprising tens of thousands of online news articles and several million social media posts. These data sets were then split into text fragments and analysed according to two aspects: which brand is mentioned? What is the tonality of the text fragment at hand – positive, negative or neutral?

In the period from January 2019 to April 2020, almost 87 million mentions of the 24,000 best-known brands in Germany were identified and assigned to them. This study was conducted by the Institute for Management and Economic Research on behalf of DEUTSCHLAND TEST and the business magazine FOCUS-MONEY.

Placing among the Top IT Service Providers in Germany with a Good »Tonalitätssaldo« and 83.5 Points

A »Tonalitätssaldo« was used to calculate the points of each brand. It was then standardised for the entire industry and converted to a point value. The company with a maximum score of 100 points is the benchmark and comparative value for all other companies in the industry. Companies that scored at least 60 points in the overall ranking received a seal of quality. With a score of 83.4 points, dotSource is among the top 15 IT service providers and thus beats globally operating companies with several hundred employees and international branches.

Around 4,400 companies from more than 200 industries were awarded the »Deutschlands Beste« seal of quality. This is equivalent to 18 per cent of all companies. The study was published in FOCUS 41/20 on 02.10.2020 and in FOCUS-MONEY 41/20 on 30.09.2020.
