Jena, 9 August 2016

In partnering with commerce-as-a-service specialist commercetools, the Jena digital agency expands its service portfolio in the area of technology. dotSource clients benefit from a highly flexible e-commerce architecture approach with high cost transparency through an attractive pricing model, calculated on the basis of actual platform usage. With the cloud-based solution that is continually enhanced, users always have access to the latest functionalities - With commercetools, there are no waiting times for version updates and related cost- and time-consuming migration projects to the next higher software version. Thus, the platform provides a wide range of always up-to-date commerce functionalities. Due to the flexible, interface-based architecture, they can be complemented by leading, specialised third-party systems, e.g. for marketplaces, with low development effort. In combination, the development and roll-out phases for new functions are reduced significantly by this approach.

»dotSource has already been in the market for more than ten years and therefore has a wealth of experience with e-commerce implementations. Especially customers who always want to stay up to date with their trading concepts draw on this. With commercetools, the dotSource portfolio now also contains a supplier for rapidly evolving trading strategies. These include modern omnichannel concepts that dealers regularly complement with new customer functionalities. With the commercetools technology, these innovations can be implemented very fast and flexibly," says Dirk Hörig, Managing Director of commercetools.

Especially the omnichannel distribution offers retailers and manufacturers tremendous opportunities to increase their revenues. commercetools offers them the possibility to integrate all channels in order to create seamless, customer-oriented shopping experiences, and to manage everything in one application. The platform also works well with modern microservice infrastructures. Thus, retailers and manufacturers can continuously add new functionalities without taking the risk that a new feature affects the running e-commerce system negatively because of unnoticed technological dependencies.

"The market is waiting for true omnichannel commerce solutions. The ever increasing requirements cannot be met without a professional e-commerce system that individually supports retailers and manufacturers in implementing their strategies. With commercetools, we have a partner whose highly flexible e-commerce platform excellently reflects the versatility and fast pace of modern commerce," says Christian Grötsch, Managing Director of dotSource GmbH.
Immediately upon signing the partnership agreement, the first dotSource employees attended training. Meanwhile, dotSource is already implementing first omnichannel projects on the basis of commercetools.
