Press Release
Jena – The digital agency headquartered in Jena once again improved its position in the Internet Agency Ranking conducted by the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) e.V. and iBusiness. With 18th place in the overall ranking and 7th place in the »E-Commerce« category, dotSource has impressively fortified its crucial role in the German digital economy.
dotSource managed to accomplish numerous milestones in the last year: with a significant revenue increase of almost 30 per cent to about 37 million euros, the digital agency from Thuringia remained on its growth trajectory despite multiple crisis scenarios.
This development is now also reflected in the Internet Agency Ranking, which is considered the industry barometer of the German Internet agency landscape, published by iBusiness. Having been ranked in 18th place, the digital agency went up two places compared to last year. In the »E-Commerce« subranking, dotSource even managed to jump back into the top 10.
dotSource Transforms Companies into Digital Champions
The numerous client projects certainly play an essential role in this. The full-service customer experience agency is very proud of its long-standing collaboration with existing clients, namely Würth and BayWa. Moreover, other big players have also found their way to dotSource over the last few years. Together with the long-established company Villeroy & Boch, dotSource further enhanced the manufacturer's digital strategy with a new online shop based on Salesforce. For Ottobock, the global market leader in prosthetics, dotSource's digital experts implemented a headless CMS from Contentful and thus set the course for a flexible as well as scalable digital experience platform based on the MACH principles.
This shows the versatility of the owner-run agency, which has been providing its clients with independent and agnostic advice for more than 17 years. dotSource has already received multiple awards for its work, for example the 2022 German Brand Award for the best online shop presented to the sustainable fashion brand hessnatur.
»At dotSource, we have been championing the belief that digitalisation makes the world a better place for over 17 years now. We are extremely proud that our growth and efforts are reflected in the Internet Agency Ranking every year – especially as the only owner-run agency in the top 20,« Christian Otto Grötsch, founder and managing director of dotSource, comments on the ranking in the industry barometer.
Steady Growth on the Path Towards 1,000 Employees
The family-like atmosphere is a fundamental principle of the digital agency, which is to be maintained at all costs despite the increase in the number of people. In 2022, the company exceeded the symbolic threshold of 500 employees. To provide the dotSource family with its own home at its headquarters in Jena, the dotSource Campus is going to be built, with over 10,000 square metres of office space to make room for new ideas. In addition, since 2023, the dotSource family has become more international and has welcomed new colleagues in Rijeka (Croatia) in spring – the first dotSource office outside of Germany.
By doing so, the digital agency paves the path for a great vision. In the upcoming years, the number of employees is to be doubled and the revenue is to be increased considerably. This plan also gives hope for many more top spots in the Internet Agency Ranking in the years ahead.
