The analytics platform provider Piwik PRO is dotSource's new strong partner, enabling the digital agency to provide web analytics services that are fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Since 2022, there has been a massive uproar in the web analytics world: the widely used Google Analytics tools are no longer considered to be compliant with the GDPR and thus need to be replaced. This is because Google cannot guarantee that the stored data on users' online behaviour will not be transferred to the USA. As per the EU GDPR, this is no longer permitted.

However, website data is extremely important for companies so that they can evaluate their marketing activities and optimise the user experience on their websites. For this reason, the demand for alternative tools is high and dotSource is glad to have a competent partner on board for this very issue – Piwik PRO.

The up-and-coming web analytics service provider Piwik PRO has its headquarters in Poland and operates its servers in Germany. This way, Piwik PRO can guarantee that the collected data remains in the European Union, which means that it acts fully in accordance with the 2016 GDPR.

Piwik PRO is available both as a cloud and on-premise version. The dashboards and reports are presented in a similar manner to those in Google Analytics, so the transition from the previously popular analytics tool is not too difficult.
