With the chatbot »eedi«, geschenkidee.ch and dotSource are launching an innovative solution that revolutionizes gift searching on smartphones. Starting today »eedi« supports the customers of geschenkidee.ch who have specific questions to quickly find and suitable present and a little surprise.

Just in time for the start of the Christmas business, geschenkidee.ch, with the support of the digital agency dotSource from Jena, has put a practical, virtual solution for a gift search into live operation. Chatbot »eedi« captivates with its requests of specific needs of the user, which allow for over a million different combinations, so that the user will find a gift perfectly tailored to the recipient. Previous answers therefore make the selection of a gift easier. The virtual advisor makes suggestions for various occasions such as wedding, birth and baptism, etc., and has ideas that fit perfectly to the selected characteristics of the recipient, or quickly finds suggestions for small surprise. The annoying task of typing and searching is finally gone. With previously prepared answers «eedi» strays away from the classic text-input chatbot.
Chatbot »eedi« is an in-house development from geschenkidee.ch in cooperation with dotSource, and is itself a virtual adviser for gift searches. The advantage of the chatbot is that it can better handle the complexity of user needs than a static web page. The chatbot »eedi« is itself an innovation based on its interaction of asking precise and successive questions, the latest technology built right in, and personal communication that leads the customer directly to the perfect gift« says Maud Hoffman, Managing Director at geschenkidee.ch.
The implementation is unique in this form and thus further strengthens the leading position of geschenkidee.ch as the gift expert in Switzerland.
Chatbot »eedi« is a new way for geschenkidee.ch to interact with customers and respond to their input. The project »eedi« was implemented in the modern spirit of »Customer Centric Design«. Comprehensive data analysis, surveys, and interviews shaped the conception phase. The prototype was improved over several iterations and with continuous customer feedback.
