Internet Agency Ranking 2021: dotSource once again secures top 10 ranking among German e-commerce agencies

The digital agency dotSource from Jena managed to move up another place in the Internet Agency Ranking of the BVDW (the German Association for the Digital Economy), securing 20th place (out of around 160 agencies) in the overall 2021 ranking. In the »Platforms, E-Commerce and Services« subranking, dotSource once again made it into the top 10, maintaining its position as one of the most successful digital agencies despite economic challenges last year. The Internet Agency Ranking is considered the industry barometer of the German Internet agency landscape.

Despite difficult economic circumstances, dotSource managed to report an eight per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to 25 million euros in 2020. The commitment of the employees, but also the trust of new and existing clients, e.g. hagebau, ESPRIT, hessnatur and BayWa AG, who relied on dotSource in their projects, were crucial to achieving this.

»40 new client projects, more than 350 dotSource employees, two new offices in Dresden and Stuttgart as well as numerous new software partnerships help us to continuously improve and expand our services,« Christian Otto Grötsch, founder and managing director at dotSource GmbH, explains the good performance. »The close cooperation with our clients – mostly remote since last year, of course – combined with the ambitious commitment of our employees brings our agency a step forward every year,« Grötsch continues.

The »Platforms, E-Commerce and Services« category is of great importance to the company. Ranked 10th, dotSource is able to maintain its position among the big players in this category as well. Besides the strong commitment of the dotSource teams, it is also their creativity and flexibility that made it possible to work professionally on various client projects. A well-thought-out crisis management strategy devised by the management provided the basis for this success. All in all, these circumstances contributed to maintaining the continuous growth in staff in 2020: dotSource currently has around 360 employees at five locations.
