Janine Bohnenberg is dotSource's fourth managing director

The digital agency dotSource continues to experience steep growth and recently reported an annual revenue of 37 million euros and a total of 530 employees at five offices. At the top management level, there are new developments as well – long-standing employee Janine Bohnenberg has joined the dotSource management alongside Christian Otto Grötsch, Christian Malik and Frank Ertel.

Janine Bohnenberg is a true dotSource original. She has been part of the agency since 2007 and has supported Christian Grötsch and Christian Malik in various administrative roles for 16 years. Before joining the management, she worked as business unit leader responsible for the administration, finance and HR departments and held a general power of attorney. She is the fourth member and first woman to be appointed to the management.

Success with Compassion and Intellect

After completing her commercial training, Janine Bohnenberg worked for different companies in Thuringia before changing careers and joining a large mobile communications provider in 2001. There, she took part in a management trainee programme as well as a communications coach training course and worked as a team lead for four years. In 2007, because of family reasons, she moved to dotSource, which was a start-up at the time, and took over the commercial tasks. She has thus been well acquainted with the digital agency from the very beginning and has gone through highs and lows together with Christian Grötsch and Christian Malik. »Janine is the best that could have happened to us,« Grötsch says about his long-standing colleague and new managing director.

Because of her open and quick-witted nature, she is highly appreciated within the company. Bohnenberg describes her career as follows: »When asked how I got to where I am today, I always respond: with diligence, compassion and intellect.« In her new position, she will not only continue to keep an eye on dotSource's finances, but also focus on the agency's stable growth and the team spirit of the dotSource family.

Above-Average Proportion of Women for an IT Company

Bohnenberg is now the fourth managing director alongside Christian Grötsch, Christian Malik and Frank Ertel – the first woman in the squad. dotSource has about 25 per cent female employees. For an IT company, this is a comparatively high proportion. Whether in software development, in project management, at the team lead level or now even at the top management level: dotSource has above-average female representation. »At dotSource, everyone gets the same advancement opportunities. If someone is eager and willing to take on new responsibilities, they get to do so – regardless of gender,« Grötsch describes dotSource's HR strategy. »Moreover, we offer flexible working models that take into account the reconciliation of work and family life. The dotSource founder and managing director is very proud of the diversity and is well aware that it has significantly contributed to the company's success.
