KLEEN PURGATIS digitalises its training portfolio with tailor-made LMS

Jena/Hiddenhausen – Together with the digital agency dotSource, KLEEN PURGATIS created a digital learning platform that sets new standards. With a modern mobile-first design, built-in assessments and centralised certificate management, the platform makes for an easy-to-use solution that ensures efficient training. Moreover, it reduces staff and travel costs as well as administrative workload.

»Cleanliness creates efficiency« – this slogan applies not only to KLEEN PURGATIS' products, but also to its digital transformation. The company offers existing customers a wide range of training courses, including mandatory hygiene training for the healthcare and catering industries. As the training courses used to be held primarily at customers' premises, they took up a lot of time and involved high costs. To increase efficiency and make it easier for customers to meet legal requirements, KLEEN PURGATIS commissioned dotSource to develop a digital learning platform. The goal was to create a user-centred, didactically effective and resource-efficient solution, providing easy access to certificates. Years of successful collaboration and the implementation of other projects in previous years formed the basis for this.

User-Centred Solution Thanks to Thorough Analysis and In-Depth System Selection

At the start of the project, KLEEN PURGATIS and dotSource carried out a comprehensive discovery phase to evaluate relevant user needs and define technical requirements for the future learning management system (LMS). With the help of workshops, interviews and the examination of existing training courses, the dotSource team identified key requirements such as a mobile-first design for flexible use across a wide range of devices, assessments and digital certificate management. Based on these findings, KLEEN PURGATIS opted for Craft CMS. Although this content management system (CMS) is not typically used for a learning platform, it is perfectly suited to KLEEN PURGATIS' requirements – without any unnecessarily complex features.

Craft CMS made it possible to meet the previously defined requirements in an uncomplicated manner. Unlike similar systems from competitors, the solution does not come with licencing costs that are tied to the number of users. In addition, Craft CMS can be seamlessly integrated into KLEEN PURGATIS' existing IT landscape.

Successful Launch and High Level of User Acceptance

Following meticulous preparatory work throughout the first stage of the project, KLEEN PURGATIS continued to draw on dotSource's expertise for the implementation of Craft CMS. The front-end framework React laid the foundation for a modern look that is consistent with the corporate identity. After just a few months, the streamlined, high-performance learning platform went live for a select group of customers. It is intended to gradually replace the analogue training format.

Thanks to centralised certificate management in PDF format, administrative workload and staff costs are significantly reduced. Furthermore, users' learning success is guaranteed since they have to complete a final quiz at the end of each training course. »The collaboration has been constructive and positive from the outset. In the future, the company plans to connect the learning platform to Salesforce Sales Cloud to enable seamless login and integration with the sales solution. The result would be additional synergies, helping KLEEN PURGATIS move towards a digital future.
