Press Release
With an approximately 20 per cent increase in revenue to 30 million euros, the digital agency with headquarters in Jena can look back on the past business year with great satisfaction. It is especially the recruitment of 100 new employees within just one year that impressively shows how the five dotSource offices are growing. For 2022, the digital agency's 17th business year, ambitious goals have once again been set. First and foremost: making the world a better place through digitalisation!
In 2021, the Jena-based digital agency dotSource was able to continue on its road to success at full speed. After some clients had initially halted projects due to the uncertainty at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital transformation projects picked up pace over the course of 2020 due to the coronavirus. This way, dotSource was able to win numerous new client projects and significantly increase its revenue in 2021.
Digital Is the Way Forward!
In addition to its existing clients, dotSource helped 36 companies carry out successful digital projects in 2021. True to the slogan »Digital is the way forward!«, it was about supporting companies in taking their first steps towards digitalisation and helping big players in e-commerce to optimise their digital services. The textile manufacturer ESPRIT, for example, took first place in the
e-fashion page speed ranking 2021 by migrating its digital system landscape with dotSource – even ahead of dominant online players such as Zalando and ABOUT YOU. The long-standing dotSource client BayWa received the »E-Retailer des Jahres«
(»E-Retailer of the Year«) award, which is presented by industry media, and the sustainable fashion brand hessnatur was able to increase e-commerce sales by as much as 45 per cent with the help of dotSource.
In order to build on these successes, the full-service agency wants to broaden its range of services even further in 2022 and provide all-round advice to its clients in multi-stream projects. The newly founded »Strategy« business unit and a total of 21 development teams, for example, contribute significantly to this. »Numerous clients praise the uncomplicated, cross-team collaboration with dotSource. We have just the right mix of specialised teams of experts and short decision-making processes. This sets us apart from the competition and has once again made us one of the most successful digital agencies in Germany
in 2021,« Christian Otto Grötsch, founder and managing director of dotSource, aptly sums it up.
People as a Success Factor in Digital Business
Amid all the success, it is particularly important to Grötsch not to lose sight of the faces behind the projects: »None of this would be possible without our many motivated employees. I am very proud that we have once again stuck together in 2021 and even improved our hybrid collaboration.«
The new record number of employees that dotSource reached in 2021 is a testament to this: The digital agency already surpassed the mark of four hundred digital natives in October and the curve continues to point sharply upwards – the dotSource family consists of approximately 440 members at the beginning of 2022. This means that a total of 162 new jobs were created in 2021, 103 of them in Jena alone!
Besides growth, the training and development of employees plays an important role. The digital agency welcomed eight new trainees in 2021 and established a new team, »dotSource Academy«, to further professionalise internal training.
In 2022, dotSource's 17th year of business, the digital agency will continue to focus on effective human resources development by promoting young talent and recruiting new employees at all five of its offices in Jena, Leipzig, Dresden, Stuttgart and Berlin. This way, dotSource will keep supporting people and companies on their way to becoming digital champions in the new year.
