Press Release
Shortly before celebrations for their thirteen-year anniversary, the Jena-based digital agency dotSource can look back on a successful 2018. With 80 new hires, the largest increase in staff since its founding in 2006. Further growth is planned by 2026 and a new head office is being discussed.
Jena, the 17th of January 2018
At dotSource GmbH, the past year was all about growth: The agency hired a total of 80 new employees in 2018, including consultants, developers, project managers, and marketers, and now employs 240 digital experts. In order to cope with an increasing number of employees, a third office was opened in Leipzig and the Berlin team was provided with a newer, larger space.
»By 2026, we want to hire at least 300 more people. The achievement of this goal depends essentially on the development of new premises at our main location in Jena. For the construction of a planned agency building with an additional 6,000 square meters of office space, we need all possible support from the city of Jena,« says dotSource founder and CEO Christian Grötsch.
The high demand in the still relatively young performance areas Customer Relationship Management, Content Management Systems, Marketing Automation, and Product Data Management confirms the company's strategy to expand its own portfolio. Thanks to their broader range of services, dotSource, initially known for e-commerce services, not only attracted a large number of new customers, but also supported long-standing existing customers as they continued to shape digital customer relations, including BayWa, Bader, Würth, Bofrost, and C.H. Beck Verlag. As a result, dotSource will record an increase in revenue in 2018 as well. With a year-end bonus (ten per cent of their annual result), the company is letting their employees enjoy the success.
In order to meet the high demand for qualified personnel, the company relies heavily on its own junior staff. dotSource currently employs 32 apprentices, trainees, working students, and interns, and is also the co-founder and founder of the bachelor's program in e-commerce at EAH Jena. Together with 20 other donors, Christian Grötsch also made a strong commitment over the past year with more than 100,000 euros from dotSource funding for the introduction of a corresponding Master's degree program, which received the starting signal in the summer of 2018.
»For our 14th financial year, our goal is to further consolidate our status as experts in the design of digital customer relations. We achieve this by expanding existing service areas. In the process, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Analytics will play an increasingly important role,« says Christian Grötsch.
On Friday, January 18th dotSource GmbH celebrated their 13th birthday. The festivities were opened by Minister of Economic Affairs and Science Wolfgang Tiefensee and Jena’s Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche.
