About Britax Römer

Whether on foot with the pushchair or by car with a child car seat: parents are happy when their children get safely and comfortably from one place to another.

For almost 140 years, Britax Römer Kindersicherheit GmbH has contributed a great deal in this regard: parents and children become more mobile when it is easier and safer to transport the little ones.

Römer, a company that manufactured pushchairs, was already founded in Southern Germany in 1871. Britax Childcare was established in Southern England in the 1930s. The globally renowned brand Britax Römer, in turn, was formed by the merger of the two European family-owned companies in 1971. Today, the company has its headquarters in Leipheim near Ulm and is one of the global market leaders in the field of child safety. In Germany alone, the company holds a market share of around 40 per cent.

The Ideal Customer Journey for Safety-Conscious Parents

Initial Situation & Objectives

Particularly when it comes to the safe and comfortable transport of children, it is important for parents to feel as well informed as possible before making a purchasing decision. Britax Römer also wants to meet this need online. In order for customers to purchase a product, they should be provided with a user-friendly overview of the nearest stationary retailers as well as an e-commerce platform where they can buy products directly from the manufacturer.

The main goal and challenge of the project, which dotSource took over as an existing shop at the end of 2018, is to ensure that all shop activities run smoothly. Furthermore, it is important to proactively identify areas that need to be optimised and to work on them together with Britax Römer.

Project Scope & Implementation

The cooperation started with a thorough code review of the existing shop. This resulted in a roadmap for further cooperation and the desired additional services such as conversion rate optimisation and digital marketing.

One by one, the various international platforms were launched and the shop architecture has been and will continue to be developed, with the goal of making content and commerce correspond as perfectly and user-friendly as possible.

In this context, the Salesforce B2C Commerce feature »Page Designer« was implemented as well.

Success & Added Value

The platform impresses with a fresh and user-friendly design, lots of really interesting content and a seamless customer journey across all touchpoints from the content to the commerce area.

The user experience is further improved through continuous conversion rate optimisation. Smart digital marketing ensures increased visibility of the renowned brand Britax Römer and the international and multi-language Salesforce platform is the key to success.
