Geschenkidee.ch GmbH was founded in 2002 and has been a 100 per cent subsidiary of the leading Swiss media group Ringier AG since 2008.
Today Geschenkidee.ch is the biggest online retailer of gifts, home accessories and lifestyle products in Switzerland.
Since 2006, the corresponding product range for the French-speaking part of Switzerland can be found at ideecadeau.ch.

Initial Situation
Managing the incredibly large product range, handling an enormous amount of users at the same time and successfully processing several orders per second – these were the requirements that Geschenkidee.ch GmbH placed on its e-commerce system.
The company’s proprietary, heavily modified e-commerce system was no longer able to meet these high requirements. dotSource replaced it with the future-proof standard solution of Magento Enterprise. As a result, the online retailer now benefits from improved update capabilities, maintainability and scalability of its online shop.
